Hello, my name is Stephanie Cress. This is my seventh year at Valley High School, and year eight as a school counselor. I am truly excited for what the year is going to bring. I will be working with all Seniors and Freshman. So, if you have any questions please stop by my office or the counseling office.
My life before my years as a Viking started out as a military kid who grew up in-between Germany and the United States, one main benefit of this being that I was able to learn German fluently and see quite a few places in Europe. For my years post high school, I've attend Highland Community College in Kansas for my Associate's in Arts with an emphases in Criminal Justice, Washburn University for my Bachelor's of Science in Criminal Justice, University of Northern Colorado for my Masters’ in School Counseling and Thomas M. Cooley Law School for my Juris Doctorate.
Outside of school, I'm an avid runner (half-marathons and marathons), a fan of the German men’s soccer team and a U.S. women’s soccer fan. I recently had my first child who was born in December, 2018. Last by not least, I'm a huge dog lover, my husband and I have 2, a Border Collie/Lab mix and a Weimaraner. Both of whom we adopted from shelters in the area. If I am not at work or running on country roads, you will find me taking hikes with my family, hanging out with friends, and sometimes just lounging on my couch catching up on what is going on in the world.
Looking forward to a great 2021-2022 school year! Go Vikings!

Hi! My name is Kate Pierce and this will be my sixth year at Valley and as a school counselor! I graduated high school from a small mountain town in Colorado, attended a small college in McPherson, Kansas for a year, and then went on to Colorado State and the University of Northern Colorado. I have had multiple jobs between now and then that have all led me to school counseling and I'm thankful that I'm able to do something that I'm passionate about.
I am a Colorado native and my husband and I have lived in Milliken for the past 10 years with our two children. I enjoy spending time with my family, love watching movies, reading great books, hiking, gardening, and traveling anywhere and everywhere!
I enjoy being involved here at the High School and am also a Link Crew Coordinator and Women's Head Soccer Coach.
Go Vikings!

Hello all! My name is BrieAnna Stephanus, and the 2021-22 school year marks my first year at Valley High. I’m so excited to be here and get to know all the awesome students and staff!
Professionally, I have worked in various educational settings for about 7 years, and last year I was working as a school-based mental health clinician up here in Northern Colorado. I completed my undergraduate and graduate degrees at Regis University in Denver. My undergraduate degree is in Neuroscience with a minor in Exercise Science, and then I completely switched gears for graduate school and got my Masters in Counseling. I am also currently finishing a graduate experience through UNC to get an additional degree specifically for School Counseling, as my first master’s was clinically-focused.
A little bit about me, personally: I am originally from Palisade (where the peaches are), so I am definitely familiar with small town life. My free time is usually spent enjoying quality time with my family and friends. I love traveling, especially to other countries, and also enjoy exercising, baking, singing in the car, and watching HGTV and “Friends”.
This year, I’m happy to be the counselor for Freshman with last names starting with N-Z as well as all Juniors, so please don’t hesitate to stop by the counseling office and say “hey” or ask questions. Go Vikings!
